Why are we asking for your views and opinions?

With their income coming from generous donations and legacies, the RSPCA depend on their dedicated staff and supporters to carry out their work. This support comes in a wide variety of ways, one of which is by sharing your views and opinions with the RSPCA. By understanding in more detail what their donors, volunteers, and supporters think, they are able to make better decisions about our fundraising, the RSPCA brand and the services that they provide.


What are the criteria for participation?

You must be at least 18 years old, and a resident of the United Kingdom or Republic of Ireland. We also ask that you accept the Terms and Conditions relating to being a participant of RSPCA Your Say.

Registering for RSPCA Your Say means that you have accepted our Terms and Conditions.


Can anyone join RSPCA Your Say?

Initially we invited supporters who had financially supported the RSPCA in the last year to take part. We have now expanded the audience to include:

  • RSPCA Facebook page members,
  • RSPCA website visitors,
  • Those who receive RSPCA digital newsletters, direct mail and magazines,
  • Those who receive RSPCA emails about My Big Walkies, Loves Animals, volunteering, media ambassadors, supporters services and campaigning.


What will I be asked to do?

RSPCA Your Say is an online survey and research community platform. You will be asked to complete surveys and polls on a wide range of subjects e.g. fundraising, the RSPCA brand and RSPCA in the news. Surveys should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete. You will usually receive one or two emails a month notifying you that one or more surveys are available for you to complete. You are under no obligation to complete every survey, although we hope that you’ll be able to find the time to do so.


What do I get for participating in RSPCA Your Say?

Participation in RSPCA Your Say is voluntary and usually no incentives (monetary or otherwise) will be given. However, we hope you’ll feel good knowing that you’re being listened to and helping the RSPCA make better decisions about key areas of the business. From time to time, we may offer additional prize draws and competitions in return for completing specific surveys at your discretion. When you are invited to take a survey, we’ll make it clear to you if there is a competition or prize draw available and how you can enter.


What do you do with my personal information?

When you register for RSPCA Your Say, we ask for basic personal information (e.g. your name and email address) and demographic information (e.g. your age, profession and donation behaviour). We ask for this information to help us select you for invitation to relevant surveys and conduct relevant analysis on survey results. When you complete follow-up surveys we will ask about your opinions and experience regarding a wide range of subjects relating to the RSPCA or the sector the RSPCA operate in e.g. fundraising, the RSPCA brand and RSPCA in the news.

We process and store any information that we collect from you in accordance with the UK Data Protection Act 2018. Results are presented at an aggregate level and your responses will be anonymous. Will I be contacted as a result of taking a survey?

The RSPCA Your Say project team may wish to invite you to participate in other research activities (e.g. online/offline focus groups) based on the responses you provide to certain questions/surveys. If this is the case, we will make it clear at the start of the relevant survey that we may wish to contact you afterward and you will have the option to opt out of being contacted.

How long does registration take?

The initial registration survey should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete.


Might my registration be declined?

No, not normally. Only if you don’t indicate you’ve understood and agreed to the Terms and Conditions or if we have reason to believe the person registering using a unique link is different from the person the link was intended for. If you are having problems completing the registration form, please email supportercare@rspca.org.uk or call 0300 123 0346 (lines open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm). Can I forward the registration link to my friends and colleagues?

Not at this stage. We may open RSPCA Your Say to wider audiences in the future but for now, we just want your participation.


My postcode has not been accepted – why is this?

Make sure you only enter the first part of your postcode and with no spaces, for example GU22.  If you are in a new property, please note there may be a delay in updating the postcode address file (PAF).


The registration page will not load

Our website is best viewed on browsers that are up to date. If for any reason you are using an older browser version, please email supportercare@rspca.org.uk or call 0300 123 0346 (lines open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm) for support on this issue.


How do I log in after I have registered?

You should receive your registration confirmation link and login details within 15 minutes of completing the profiling questionnaire. They will come in an email from support@YourSay.rspca.org.uk. This email will also contain a link to your first survey.

If you do not receive your login details after registering, please check your junk mail in case it has landed there. If it is not here either, please email email supportercare@rspca.org.uk or call 0300 123 0346 (lines open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm), and we can help.


I cannot click on the link in the email to confirm my registration

If for some reason the email is displaying this link as non-clickable, just manually copy it then paste into your URL browser.



Your Profile / Accounts and Logins:


Logging into your RSPCA Your Say account

When you first create your RSPCA Your Say account you will be asked to enter your email address (this is your login) and you will have the chance to change your password to something that is easy for you to remember. Please ensure you make note of the email you use and your password as you will need them to login to your RSPCA Your Say account in the future.

Please remember that the password recognition is case sensitive, so you must use capitals and small letters in the right places.

If for any reason you forget your login details you can reset them by clicking “Forgot your log-in details” on the login page and following the steps.


I clicked on ‘Forgot your login details (Username, Password)?’ but did not receive new login details

Your new username and password are automatically changed once you click on that link and then sent to you in an email from support@YourSay.rspca.org.uk. Please check your junk mail if it has not landed in your inbox.


How do I change my password?

Once logged in, click “Your Profile” at the top of the page. Scroll down and click on “Password”, then click on the “Change password” option. Then simply enter your current password and your new desired password in the relevant fields. Click on “Update” to save the changes.


I don’t want to be a part of RSPCA Your Say anymore. How do I leave?

We’re sorry to see you go. If you wish to leave RSPCA Your Say, log in to Your Profile and click the ‘Unregister’ link. You will then be unsubscribed and not receive any more emails regarding RSPCA Your Say. Your account will be closed and your personal information (i.e. name, email address etc) will then be removed from the RSPCA Your Say active database. This may take a few working days. Your data will, however, be kept securely on Beautiful Insights’ systems but will not be visible or usable by anyone apart for our internal audit purposes, i.e. to ensure terminated or frozen accounts are not reinstated and where requested no further communication can be sent.  However, you can specifically request for all of your personal information to be deleted (by emailing supportercare@rspca.org.uk or calling 0300 123 0346 (lines open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm). Non-identifiable information will remain on Beautiful Insights’ systems for the duration of the retention schedule (i.e. responses to surveys and non-identifiable demographic information).

Please note that this will only unsubscribe you from RSPCA Your Say and any related emails. To unsubscribe from all RSPCA communications please email supportercare@rspca.org.uk or call 0300 123 0346 (lines open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm). RSPCA regret that you may receive a couple of further emails before they cease altogether. This is because they select the names in advance of an appeal or update being sent out.  Please ignore these final emails and rest assured that the RSPCA have taken the necessary action on their donor database to ensure that they do not send you any more.


Why might my account be closed?

Your account might be closed if it is deemed that you are not using it for its intended purpose, are breaking the terms outlined in the T&Cs or are providing false or incomplete information. For more information about account closure please refer to the Fair Processing Statement in the Terms and Conditions.

Surveys:


How will I know when there’s a survey for me to complete?

New surveys will be available once or twice a month. Every time there is a survey available for you to complete we will send you an email notification. This will be sent from support@YourSay.rspca.org.uk. Uncompleted surveys will also stay live on the site for some time and can be accessed through the Questionnaires page.


Do I have to participate in every survey I am invited to?

Not at all! You can complete whichever surveys you choose. If you do not complete one you will be able to complete the following one as normal. We do not like to overburden people with surveys, and we aim to invite participants to participate in relevant surveys, based on the registration information that you give.

If you haven’t participated in a survey for a while, you may receive an email checking that you wish to remain a participant of RSPCA Your Say.


Once I sign up, when will I receive my first survey?

You will receive an invite to your first survey with the email that contains your registration confirmation link and login details. Just click on that link and you will be taken to the Questionnaires page, which contains your first survey.

After that, RSPCA Your Say participants usually receive their next survey within a month of being a participant. We try to send surveys once or twice a month.


What kind of questions will I have to answer in surveys?

Survey topics can be anything to do with the RSPCA, our fundraising activities, the RSPCA brand, or other products and services that we think could interest you. For example, we may ask you for feedback on your experience of our customer service, a particular animal welfare issue or ideas on services you would like to see us provide.

Please note we will never ask you for any information that relates to passwords, financial information (credit cards etc.) or anything that you might deem as sensitive information. I am answering questions that I already answered when I registered. Why is this?

Don’t worry, you are properly registered. We’re just running a check to keep our records up to date.
